The Legacy rises in Green Point

THE LEGACY: The Legacy rises in Green Point

MLB Architects designed The Legacy’s exterior, which plays with varied compositions of window and wall, light and shadow, colour and texture, giving it a changeable aspect depending from where you view it. Meanwhile, the north-facing rooftop area sets another benchmark for visionary design – and sheer enjoyment. Extensive use of timber decking at various levels connects a lift and weather lobby to a swimming pool and entertainment area, with the stepping in the deck creating a variety of levels to define areas for seating, entertaining and sun tanning. The seating areas are protected by a combination of walled and glazed wind breaks with shade control above. As on the apartment terraces, the pool and raised timber deck are secured by clear glass balustrades, for uninterrupted Cape Town views.

Inside, The Legacy’s design is just as remarkable. Secure basement parking is directly accessible by two lifts; there is a full-time concierge desk area and behind the scenes, a central water heating system is powered in part by solar panels on the rooftop. Sun control devices are used on the north elevations, along with overhanging balconies and recessed windows. Lighting is energy efficient throughout. The apartments themselves come with brand name fittings, fine finishes and a range of layouts.

Glass balustrade is really great in
keeping the view. A nice view from their balcony is one aspect when potential customers
are deciding to buy the place.
