“the world’s first hydrogen powered tram”
The China South Rail Corporation announced this month the only hydrogen powered team, making China in this sense the only country in the world that has applied this technology for a public transportation system. The source is based on hydrogen fuel cells that had been used in the past in the car industry but not for public transport. The tram can transport more than 380 passengers and can go over 100km at speeds of 70 km per hour considering. The only emission of these trams will be water vapor. Across China’s vast expanse are only about 83 miles of tram tracks, laid out in just seven cities.
