FUTURE CAPE TOWN aims to be a year round project using our existing platforms and work including the use of online media, social media, forums, tours, public forums, and exhibitions to promote awareness and dialogue about the power of design as a tool to transform our cities.

  • Your City Idea: A 2 metre tall installation gathering public input on urban issues. Read more here.

  • Future Spaces: The Future Spaces project seeks to map the lived experience of the city’s people in the city’s spaces now, and as it could be. Using engagement, photography, video, audio and workshops to imagine a different future for public spaces.

EXHIBITION

SOCIAL MEDIA

We regularly host social media tweetchats called #CityTalk which frequently reaches in excess of 2 million Twitter users, with hundreds of tweets shared from contributors on every continent.Get in touch to sponsor a #CityTalk, and read more about them here.

RADIO

Our weekly radio show Metropolist will cover a broad range of city issues and news, with a specific focus on design projects, and WDC2014 projects. Shout if you would like to sponsor the show or have an idea or topic for a show.

With over 100,000 visitors in 2013, our website is a central space for ideas, news and inspiration. Combined with over 30,000 social media followers, we aim to build a democracy around urbanism and design issues. We hope to be reporting on, covering and sharing #WDC2014 projects and events for us.
